I’ve tried this product a few times. It takes some trial and error to find the right balance. For me, 2.5 scoops per bottle is perfect. I’m 5’9” and 190-195lbs. I sweat quite a bit, when I initially tried the recommended amount, it wasn’t enough for me, but as I added more it started to balance out for me and my body type. I can go 40-50 miles (on two bottles, with half a bottle remaining) and don’t need to eat a bar or food in general for carbs as this provides what I need. I still use Gu packs as I haven’t tried not to use them, but I can absolutely get by without additional food and I don’t necessarily need to drink as much, the electrolytes and carbs fuel me for longer. Highly recommended.
I use Monolith for all my long runs and have used it in races between marathons & ultras. One scoop in a bottle keeps me fueled without stomach issues. The flavor’s light, and I like that it’s just clean carbs and electrolytes—no junk like other mixes.

Essential electrolytes
Another prime function of a high quality drink mix is to replace electrolytes lost through sweat. We use sodium citrate instead of table salt to provide these electrolytes. Sodium citrate helps reduce gut discomfort, speeds up sodium absorption and has a mild tart flavor. No intense salt flavor here.
